Chronic Pain Self-Management Program (CPSMP)
The Chronic Pain Self-Management Program (CPSMP) is a two and a half hoursworkshop that is held once a week, for six weeks in community settings such as senior centers, churches, libraries, and hospitals. Workshops are facilitated by two trained leaders, one or both of whom are non-health professionals with chronic pain themselves. Topics covered include: frustration, fatique, isolation, poor sleep, appropriate exercise, appropriate use of medications, communication, nutrition, managing activity and rest, and evaluation of new treatments.
