-
Detection - Creating forensic centers to enhance detection of problems.
-
Treatment - Investigating better ways to diminish the consequences of abuse and meeting the complex needs of victims.
-
Collaboration - Coordinating federal, state, local, and private entities, law enforcement, long-term care facilities, consumers, advocates, and family through mechanisms such as multi-disciplinary response teams.
-
Prosecution - Helping law enforcement and prosecutors ensure that those who abuse older adults are held accountable.
-
Consumers - Creating a resource center to help older adults and families make choices about personal care options, and learn how to prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
